This frosty 9 inch vanilla bean cake was created to celebrate my granddaughter Riley's 2nd birthday. During a special trip to Florida, she would run into my room each morning, climb onto my lap, and watch her favourite show Pingu- a delightful story about little penguin. Inspired by those sweet memories, I decided on a penguin-themed birthday cake.
The cake features a water effect made with blue jello on top, giving it an adorable arctic feel. The handcrafted penguin,fish, and "Happy Birthday" sign were made by a talented fondant artist, Valerie Craft, I collaborate with.
This birthday cake serves approximately 25-29 people.
