FAQ

Q: How far in advance should I place my order?

A: The short answer is the sooner, the better. There is a greater chance that we can accept your order, and you can get the design and the colour palette of your choice. We highly recommend placing your order at least 2 weeks in advance. That being said, we may be able to accommodate some last minute orders for an  expedited fee. Please fill in this form for an expedited order.

Q: Do you offer delivery?

A: As a rule of thumb, all the orders are for pick up. However, we may offer delivery for large and/or wedding orders with a delivery fee. Also, you can get Uber package to deliver your order to you. Previously, customers have used Uber package and they have been satisfied with the results.

Q: When should I come to pick up my order?

A: There are two pickup windows that you can choose to collect your order. The orders can be picked up either between 9:30-10:30 am or 5-6 pm. If you need to pick them up at a different time, please let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

Q: Where are you located?

A: We are located in central Ottawa, near the Experimental Farm.

Q: How do I order cupcakes?

A: You can choose from any of the current selection of my cupcakes, under Cupcakes and Cakes in my website. You then pick the flavour from the dropdown bar; pick the size whether as a cupcake bouquet or boxed cupcake; and finally pick a deluxe packaging if you'd like. Then hit the "Pre-Order" button. It will take you to your cart, where you can review your order. Then click the "Checkout" button. In the Order Summary page, fill in a short form with your contact information and preferred pickup date and time, then hit the "Place Order & Pay" button.

Q: What happens after I submit my order?

A: You will receive an automatic Order Confirmation email from us right away stating that we have received your pre-order request. If you don't receive the email, please contact us directly. Then, we will review your order and send you an email within 48 hours to confirm your order based on our availability, or to discuss it further with you. If we can accept your order, you will be provided with payment instructions and an exact pickup address. Your order is finalized only after the payment has been received.

Q: How do I pay?

A: Currently, all payments are made through e-transfer. Your order is only finalized  after the full payment has been made upon the receipt of your invoice. Should payment not be received within 72 hrs of your invoice date, your order will be automatically cancelled.

 

Q: How do I store your products?

A: We recommend you store our products in an airtight container. If you do, they will stay fresh for 3-4 days at room temperature. In the fridge, they will stay fresh for up to a week. In the freezer, they will stay fresh for up to 3 months.

When you take them out of the fridge/freezer, let them sit for a few hours to bring them to room temperature before serving them. Cakes may take a bit longer to come to room temperature depending on their size. I find my cupcakes and cakes most delicious at room temperature.

Q: What happens if I have to cancel my order?

A: At Ozzie's Cakery everything is made to order. There is a considerable amount of preparation and work that goes into your order in advance. Also, when we accept your order that means we may have to turn down other orders for that date or nearby dates. At Ozzie's Cakery, we require a 30% non-refundable down payment for orders placed long in advance to save the date. The remaining balance is due 45 days before the pickup/delivery date. If you cancel your order 14 days before the pickup/delivery date, you will receive a 50% refund of the last payment received. There is no refund on cancelations less than 14 days from the pickup/delivery date.
